This artful mug was hand thrown and trimmed on my pottery wheel using white stoneware clay, it was then covered with black underglaze and hand carved and features 3 different sunflowers in the design. This method is called sgraffito. It was then bisque fired and glazed and high fired in my electric kiln.
This mug is not just a pretty cup but a work of art.
Approximate size: 3.5" across the top rim and 3.5" high, holds approximately 13 ounces of liquid.
*Due to the hand carved nature, the design area has a rough texture.
This is a special mug that should be used and enjoyed. While it is dishwasher and microwave safe, I would recommend hand washing when possible to limit the wear and tear that a dishwasher may have on such a special piece of art.
