Nature Vase With Maiden Hair Fern Pressed Leaves, Handmade pottery Made in USA
This vase was hand thrown on my pottery wheel using a brown stoneware clay. I then collected leaves from my backyard (in this case maiden hair ferns) and impressed them into the clay while it was still soft. White stoneware slip was pained over the exterior of the vase, when dry the leaves where pealed away leaving the natural white clay as a relief. The vase was bisque fired and then glazed with a clear translucent glaze and a white matte glaze on the inside. It was then high fired in my kiln.
Approximate size: 5" tall and 4" at widest part.
