Match Striker Cup, White Matte Speckled Shot Glass, Stoneware Pottery Made in USA
This little cup was hand thrown on my pottery wheel using a brown speckled stoneware clay, the edges were hand carved to create the vertical grooves. It was then bisque fired and glazed with a white matte glaze that allows the natural speckles of the clay to show through, it was then high fired in my electric kiln.
This cup may be used to store your matches, it has a removable match striker sheet on the bottom of the cup that peels off easily. This cup would also be great to hold your toothpicks or used as a shot glass, saki cup etc.
*For months I searched the internet to find a clay that has this depth of speckling in it. This particular clay comes from Canada, and while it is more costly than the local clays I use, I believe it's worth it to be able to make special pieces like this.
Approximate size: 3" wide and 2.5" high and holds about 4 ounces of liquid.
Dishwasher safe once match striker paper is removed (it cannot be put back on).
*Please note matches are not included.
