Handmade Mug with White Matte Glaze in Speckled Stoneware Clay Made in USA
$46.00 Sold out
This rustic mug was hand thrown and trimmed on my pottery wheel using a brown speckled stoneware clay. It hand carved and then bisque fired, glazed with a matte white glaze that allows the natural speckles of the clay show through. It was then high fired in my electric kiln.
For months I searched the internet to find a clay that has this depth of speckling in it. This particular clay comes from Canada, and while it is more costly than the local clays I use, I believe it's worth it to be able to make special pieces like this.
This unique cup will compliment any rustic, primitive or minimalist decor.
Approximate size: 3.5" across the top rim and 3.75" high, holds approximately 14 ounces of liquid.
