This highly detailed artful mug was hand thrown and trimmed on my pottery wheel using white stoneware clay, it was then covered with black underglaze, then each bear was hand carved, there are 2 different bears in the design. This method is called sgraffito. It was then bisque fired and glazed and high fired in my electric kiln.
Approximate size: 3.5" across the top rim and 3.75" high, holds approximately 12 ounces of liquid.
*Due to the hand carved nature, the design area has a rough texture.
These special mugs should be used and enjoyed. While it is dishwasher and microwave safe, I would recommend hand washing when possible to limit the wear and tear that a dishwasher may have on such a special piece of art.
